Just a few pictures from Prep's victory over Oak Grove last night. Zachary quit baseball after his 10th grade year because of a shoulder injury and to concentrate on football, but I still enjoy going and watching some of my favorite guys play! I enjoy taking pictures and sharing them with the kids. Even if my kids are participating in an activity, I always seem to have more pictures of all the other kids. It's funny because on the rare occasion when I don't have my camera, it's not very often that someone takes a shot of my child. I know it's human nature, but it's just not my human nature! This hasn't been a job for me... only a hobby, so it's not like I'm required to take pictures of all the kids. I do it because I want to and I've always enjoyed sharing them with others. I'm those kids biggest fan other than their parents and I hope the very best for each and every one of them. If everyone felt the same way, high school sports and activities would be a totally different experience. I've witnessed too much junk over the years, but I still hold on to the hope that others will one day discover how much better it feels to experience joy in their heart when others succeed instead of jealousy. I know that Zachary signed with a community college instead of a Division 1 school, but we are very proud of him and so are my TRUE friends. I've learned a lot about people in the last couple of months. After the All-Star game selections, I can count on one hand the number of parents who congratulated Zachary & Josh for being selected. (I'm not sure about Pack, so I can't say) Then after Zachary signed his football scholarship, it may take both hands to count the number of Prep parents who acknowledged it. If it had been at Ole Miss or State, maybe it would be different.... no, I really don't think it would make a difference. I'll keep hoping that things will change and the true Christian attitude, which they all claim to be, will be reflected in their actions. I remember Chip preaching one day and saying that the "true measure of a man is how he treats someone who he feels can do nothing for them". That is such a powerful statement. Dear Lord, please strike me down if I treat people like that.
