Our good friend, Mark Bennett killed this huge deer yesterday. He lives in Crystal Springs and killed it right behind his house. It was scored 165 5/8. When he took it to be scored at Mean Mallard, someone else brought in one just a little larger while he was there. So, it won't win the Big Buck contest, but it sure made Mark happy. My Mark was in Carthage with two of their other friends last night, but Mark Bennett couldn't work it out to go with them. So he decided to hunt behind his house. After he killed it, he called them to tell them what he had killed. My Mark, Gardner and Bard called me at 10:30 wanting me to google "scoring deer". They had Mark on the cell phone relaying what I was reading them. I think they were just making sure he was doing it right. This morning my Mark called me to come meet them at Cindy's Fish House to see it before Mark Bennett took it to the taxidermy.
By the way, Mark is Zachary's girlfriend's daddy. I emailed Brittany the pictures today so she could see her proud dad and his trophy!
