Dance Competition

On Saturday, Leigh Ashley's dance team traveled to West Memphis, AR to compete in Star Systems Competition. We decided to drive up that morning and come home afterwards. We rode with Stacey and had a crew following us. I took them through the shortcut by Sun-Pine in Canton and I think they could have killed me. It's pretty rough through there, but it does shave some time off. By going that way, you get on the interstate at the North Canton exit and miss all of the traffic through Jackson and Madison.

This is Leigh Ashley and Bailey's first year on the team, so they only competed in one dance. Both of them did great! They looked like they had done it before. I think it helped a lot for them to sit and watch all of the other teams dance. They knew what they had to do. Around 8 pm, it was finally time for awards. Their dance "Sharktails" won 1st Place Overall in their age division and received a "High Gold" score!!! We were all so excited and so proud of the team. Rhonda works so hard with them and does a great job. On the way home, Leigh Ashley and Bailey said that they are ready for the next one! I think it really motivated them.

We finally got home around 1 am. I think Stacey and I were both delirious when we made it back to Rhonda's parking lot-we got so tickled loading my car. I'm sure anyone passing by thought we were nuts! It was 2 by the time we got to bed...we were pooped!
