Tonight we celebrated Mark's daddy and brother, Michael's birthday. For the first time in our 18 year marriage, Mark did all of the grocery shopping and cooking. All I did was pick up the cake and he did the rest. It was nice to be able to sit and talk to our company for a change instead of staying in the kitchen the entire time. Since there's a good chance that Cassidy won't be back for several months, I took pictures for Mark's parents Christmas cards. Amy and I had to do lots of persuading to get five kids to do what we needed them to do to get a good shot. I haven't looked at them all, but I think we got some good ones. I also showed Amy all the good places to shop on blogspot! The big hit of the night was the birthday cake. I found "Dream Cakes" while surfing around on blogs. I'll have to look around when I have a chance and see who I need to thank for the cake connection.
When I called "Dream Cakes" (dreamcakesms.blogspot.com), I told her that I need a cake and thought it would be neat to do it relating to our family business. I gave her the website (www.sun-pine.com) and told her to look around and see if they could come up with any ideas. Well, check out my pictures and see just how creative these gals! They made the cake to look like a bleach bottle! They also put little bottles made from fondant icing to look like the other products Sun-Pine produces. What's even better is that the cake was delicious!
My father-in-law asked that we not buy him gifts this year. I believe us all being together as a family tonight was the best gift we could have given him. All of the grandkids were here for him to love on and enjoy the best gift of all.

What a cute cake! How's your knee today? Did you rest it this weekend?
